Noonday Online Book Study: “Waking Up White”

June 30 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until July 7, 2020

In Lent, one of the books our Diocese encouraged us all to read was, “Waking Up White, and Finding Myself in the Story of Race” by Debby Irving. Part of that initiative was going to include having Mrs. Irving speak at St. Paul’s, but because of the pandemic, that did not get to happen. However, because of the times, we find ourselves in, there is no better time to reengage the content of her book.

Therefore, we are launching a book group that will meet on Zoom and provide facilitated discussion around the issues of race, racism, and privilege that the book surfaces. If you are newer to this conversation, Irving’s book is a helpful on-ramp. The class will be rich.

Please note that this study is also being offered in the evenings on the same days at 7 pm. To learn more, click here >>
