Young Adults: Small Group Bible Study

October 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every 2 weeks that begins at 7:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until December 3, 2023

Join the Rev. Sara Ardrey-Graves and the Young Adults Ministry for this every other week bible study specifically designed for young adults.

This fall our Thursday night small group is going to focus on the topic of liberation theology.  If you’ve never heard of it, it began as a movement in Latin America and eventually came to affect how Black theology was first shaped in this country and became a part of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.  This is an approach to theology that assumes that God cares first about the poor and the suffering before anything or anyone else.
We will be discussing The Scandal of Redemption by Oscar Romero.
Here’s how we’ll divide up the schedule:
August 27: Overview of Liberation Theology
September 10: God the Creator and the Word Made Flesh
September 24: Redemption
October 8: The Call
October 22: The Way
November 5: The Church
November 19: The Kingdom
December 3: Liberation and All Things New

For more information on either of these opportunities and to connect with the young adults ministry, please email the Rev. Sara Ardrey-Graves at sardrey-graves@stpauls-ws.org
