Share Joy: It’s What We Do

St. Paul’s 2019 Share Joy annual giving campaign uses two powerfully simple words to communicate what God is doing at St. Paul’s right now and how we are invited to respond.

There is a joyful energy permeating our common life together. It is palpable in everything from Sunday morning worship to the way people talk about St. Paul’s in the community. Joy is happening here.

However, while joy is wonderful to receive, it is made complete when it is passed on. Joy, in this sense, is dynamic—not static. It has a flow. That flow has its source in God and gets passed on through us to one another. It is meant to be shared. That’s how joy works.

Each fall, we ask you and your fellow parishioners to share joy by pledging your support of the mission and ministries of our church during the coming year. We encourage not just a financial commitment, but by holding our Parish Ministry Fair on the day we officially launch the campaign, we seek to promote your active engagement in the work of our church as a committee member or program volunteer. Your involvement in this campaign is a way to step into the flow and share God’s joy at St. Paul’s.

In Romans 15:13, Paul wrote, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” This is my prayer for all of us at St. Paul’s.

Share Joy. We are St. Paul’s and this is what we do.
