Daniel is the hero of the Book of Daniel. In one of the stories, he translates mysterious writing for King Belshazzar, predicting his overthrow. (Daniel 5) The words he translated, “Mene, mene, tekal, upharsin” are shown in this image. The Book of Daniel is an apocalyptic work, a type of literature written in times of great persecution to encourage the Jews to remain faithful to their religion. Daniel also appears in Window #30.
