Michael is the only angel who is mentioned by name in all three of the major sacred texts of Judaism (Daniel 12:1), Islam, and Christianity (Jude, verse 9, Revelation 12:7-9). In Revelation, he leads God’s armies in a war in heaven against Satan (Revelation 2), and he is portrayed here with Satan under his sword.
