The story of King David is found in the books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and Chronicles. He was a great warrior, the second King of Israel (about 1010 – 970 BCE), and is considered the author of the Psalms and the ancestor of Jesus. He is shown here with his royal crown and a lyre.
