The Rev. Dixon Kinser is St. Paul’s 19th Rector. Dixon attended St. Paul’s with his family while growing up in Winston-Salem. He returned as Rector September 1, 2014.
Dixon began his ministry as a youth ministry volunteer at St. Martin’s In-the-field Episcopal Church in Columbia for three years while an undergraduate majoring in psychology at the University of South Carolina. After graduation, Dixon enrolled in a master’s program in youth ministry at Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry while serving as the Director of Youth Ministry at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Venetia, Pennsylvania, where over a seven-year period he built a vibrant youth program from scratch. Dixon moved to Nashville in 2003 to become the Director of Youth Ministry at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church while continuing to work on his Master of Divinity at Trinity. In 2007, he became an Associate Rector at St. Bartholomew’s. His ordination as a priest was in 2008.
Currently, Dixon is enrolled in a doctoral program at Duke University Divinity School.
