St. Paul’s Children’s and Youth Ministries will collaborate on a Lego® building project, Lego My Bible, beginning Sunday, January 8, and continuing throughout the year. Children and youth of all ages and their families will use the building blocks to depict stories from the Bible.
Families with Lego-brand and Lego-compatible building bricks they are no longer using are asked to donate them to the church for the project.
“Children, youth and families will come together and use Legos to make Bible stories come to life,” said the Rev. Lauren Villemuer-Drenth, Director of Children’s Ministries. “They’ll create their vision of the story, with no pattern to follow or picture to recreate-just a wondering and creativity that come from the heart.”
Fourth and fifth graders will work on projects during Sunday morning formation classes, and families will be invited to a Family Lego Building Faith Night in February.
All Lego creations, along with a summary of the Bible story depicted and a prayer, will be displayed at a special event later in the year.
