Sheriff to Speak at Men’s Dinner

St. Paul’s Men’s Ministry invites the men of the parish to gather in the Colhoun Room on Monday, November 14, from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. for socializing and from 6:00 to 7:00 for dinner and remarks by Forsyth County Sheriff William T. Schatzman.

The cost is $10, payable at the door.

No reservation is required, but those who plan to attend are asked to email Tom McDowell at tmcdowell@stpauls-ws.org.

Sheriff William T. “Bill” Schatzman was first elected sheriff in 2002, and is serving in his fourth elected term.

The sheriff’s law enforcement career began in 1970 when FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover hired him as Special Agent. During his service with the FBI, the sheriff investigated violations of federal law to include foreign espionage matters. As a senior agent and manager, he trained and supervised other special agents in all aspects of FBI work. He was the FBI Police Training Coordinator for North Carolina directing FBI training of local law enforcement.

He retired from the FBI in 1994 and founded Schatzman & Associates (S&A) to help corporate clients manage risk by ensuring product and personnel security. S&A services also included investigative support to attorneys engaged in both civil and criminal litigation.

Sheriff Schatzman has been and is active in Forsyth County and throughout North Carolina serving on numerous boards and commissions. He is a member of the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association (NCSA) and sits on the NCSA Legislative Committee that works with the North Carolina Legislature on matters affecting the NCSA and law enforcement. He represents the NCSA on North Carolina State Emergency Response Committee (NCSERC) and the Governing Board of the North Carolina Law Enforcement Information Sharing and Analysis Center (NCISAAC). He is the NCSA representative on the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Advisory Board which supports law enforcement in North Carolina.

Sheriff Schatzman graduated from Quinnipiac University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He served his country as a United States Marine from 1963 to 1966.
