Honoring the Rev. Darby Oliver Everhard

As you know, our dear priest Rev. Darby Everhard is leaving at the end of this month to serve as the interim rector of St. Mary’s in High Point. Darby’s last Sunday at St. Paul’s will be October 11, and she will celebrate both Eucharists and co-officiating the live stream on that day. To celebrate her, we have two offerings in which I hope you’ll participate.

First, there will be a drive-by celebration to give thanks for Darby’s ministry at St. Paul’s on Sunday, October 18. The event will happen from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm under the porte-cochere where Darby will greet parishioners in their vehicles.

Second, it is customary for the parish to offer a departing priest something called “a pursue.” This is a collection of free will offerings given directly to a cleric as an expression of gratitude and to assist them with any transition expenses they may have. We will be collecting offerings for Darby at the St. Paul’s office through October 31. We can accept cash and checks out to Darby directly with “purse” in the memo line. Thank you.
