The Rev. Darby Oliver Everhard joined St. Paul’s as an Associate Rector in September 2009.
Darby is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She worked in laboratory medicine in Indiana and Virginia for a number of years. She served as a lay hospital chaplain for 12 years at The Christ Hospital and at Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated with a Master of Divinity from Bexley Hall Seminary in 2004 and served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bexley Seabury Federation.
Before coming to St. Paul’s, she was Senior Associate Rector at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Terrace Park, Ohio, in the Diocese of Southern Ohio. Since coming to the Diocese of North Carolina in 2009, she has served as a member of the Chartered Committee for Lifelong Christian Formation (until 2017) and the Bishop’s Task Force on Christian Formation (2016-2017). She currently chairs the Bishop’s Committee on Liturgy, having been a member since 2011.
Darby loves music, reading, gardening, the beach, turtles and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband Tom have four children and nine grandchildren.
